Men’s & Women’s Ministries

St. Matthew’s is committed to meeting the needs of the men and women of our parish. We have a number of groups that meet in person and/or online as detailed below.

We invite women of all ages and life stages to join this intergenerational community as we discuss David Brenner’s Sacred Companions and reflect on our individual prayer lives. We meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 10:45am-12:00pm in the Bishop’s Study. Online participation is available on BlueJeans. For more information, contact Connie Hubbard here.

Since the dawn of time, men have gathered around a fire to eat meat and swap stories. On the first Monday of every month, St Matthew’s continues that tradition and improves on it with the addition of tortillas in which to place the meat (i.e. tacos), cigars, and adult beverages. Whether you are new to our parish or a longtime member, Men’s Group is the perfect place to relax, discuss theology, and even break out a musical instrument (but mostly drink and smoke). So, bring a friend (and probably a jacket).

Our Tuesday morning Men’s Group meets at 7:00am at Knowlwood in Old Town Irvine (I-5 and Sand Canyon) for Morning Prayer and fellowship over coffee. For more information, contact the church office here.

Blossoming from the faithful seeds planted by the St. Matthew's Women's Guild and cultivated by a fresh collaboration of intergenerational women, St. Anne’s Daughters hosts a monthly noon luncheon gathering on the first Saturday of the month where women of all ages (12+) can connect to cultivate spiritual friendships. As St. Anne, mother of St. Mary and grandmother of Jesus, raised her daughter in such a way that she could say a radical "yes" to God when called, our prayer is that this becomes a place of growth and genuine intergenerational connection that supports and equips you to say your own "yes" to God's will in your life.
